Women of Colour Gathering at RMIT (2019)

We had the honor of sharing our Quipu practice with a group of remarkable women during the Women of Colour Gathering. Our group, Colectiva de Abya Yala, is made up of Latin American women who have been meeting weekly for the past two years. We’ve created a space where we can explore feminism through the lens of our Latin American heritage, embracing the richness of our “mestiza” culture. During our time together, we shared readings from Latin American authors, opened up about our personal journeys, and wove not only with our hands but also with our thoughts and experiences. It was an empowering moment for us to connect with other feminist and womanist networks, and to feel the strength of our collective voices resonating together.
