Unknotting Sentipensares Program: Words of Gratitude

Our annual Unknotting Sentipensares program has come to an end.

Through this program, we have encouraged dialogue between our territories, bodies, and the land. We have reflected on our practices of self-care and reconnected with the earth through the hands of women working with clay. We have listened to the stories of women who care for and share the ultimate source of our existence: the seeds of our food.

We explored how the environment, patriarchy, and capitalism impact our bodies and sought ways to unlearn, feel, and resist. It has been a transformative journey of questioning, exploring, and unknotting the complex web of feeling-thinking.

We want to take this opportunity to express our endless gratitude to everyone who has joined our events this year. It has meant so much to us to connect with the Merri Bek community through our practice.

To all the facilitators and artists who joined us on this journey of reconnection—to our bodies, nature, the land we now call home, and the territories we come from—this project wouldn’t have been the same without your openness, kindness, and generosity.

A special thank you to Kimba at Blak Dot Gallery for her unwavering support throughout this and all the projects Colectiva Abya Yala puts forward.

We also extend our gratitude to Arts Merri Bek for their support through the Flourish Art Recovery Grant 2023-2024.

And that’s a wrap! Looking forward to connecting with all of you again in 2025.

In community,
Colectiva Abya Yala
